Leadership / Director Positions

Diaspora Education Director  

  1. Black History Month Calendar: Coordinate with BSAC the theme, events, printing and distribution.
  2. Homeward to My Heritage Trip(s): Plan/Facilitate a trip to a culturally significant destination.
  3. Homeward to My Heritage Speech Contest: Plan/Facilitate DNA results speech contest.
  4. Mentor subcommittee members by delegating tasks effectively and recruiting successor.
  5. Work with Vice Chair of Development and Public Relations to implement marketing efforts.
  6. Implement best practices in fiscal responsibility, risk management, project management, delegation and critical thinking into all aspect of planning and facilitation of projects.

MLK Holiday/Special Projects Director 

  1. Fall Program: Plan/Facilitate program as a prelude to the MLK breakfast.
  2. MLK Breakfast: Plan/Facilitate the university’s celebration of this federal holiday
  3. Mentor subcommittee members/Delegate tasks effectively to subcommittee. Recruit successor from subcommittee.
  4. Work with Vice Chair of Development and Public Relations to implement marketing efforts.
  5. Implement best practices in fiscal responsibility, risk management, project management, delegation and critical thinking into all aspect of planning and facilitation of projects

Expectations of MSC WBAC Leaders

  1. Attends weekly executive leadership and leadership team meetings as applicable.
  2. Understands/Implements MSC policies and procedures
  3. Accomplishes assigned tasks
  4. Prepares and is punctual for all meetings and events
  5. Asks questions / Provides feedback
  6. Articulates information accurately
  7. Respects others
  8. Engages general committee members throughout academic year
  9. Informs Chair and/or Advisor of additional priorities that may interfere MSC WBAC commitments in a timely manner
  10. Receives/Provides constructive criticism
  11. Contributes to the overall growth and wellbeing of the committee
