HOWDY!
In an effort to better organize and advertise events during Black History Month (BHM), the MSC Woodson Black Awareness Committee (WBAC) produces a large and wide ranging marketing campaign. Together we coordinate with student organizations, departments, and community groups.
We believe it is important that the university community put forth an organized effort for all of our cultural months and we can contribute to that effort in February. The students of WBAC have committed to covering the cost of advertising for that month in addition to any programming they will do. Their goal this year is to expose more of the campus community to the vast array of programs that will take place. Beyond that we all would like to see a series of well organized and collaborative events take place.
You and the department/organization you represent are invited to join us in the planning process. There are meetings and updates periodically throughout the fall. This is not intended to be arduous endeavor, but merely an opportunity for various entities across campus to communicate about potential programs and get on the same page.
If you know of other departments or organizations that do related programming or might want to be involved, please let us know so that they can be included as well. Please stay abreast of the tentative schedule through these periodic emails or by visiting the WBAC website.
Respectfully,
MSC Woodson Black Awareness Committee
